Subletting generally banned in the rental contract – valid?
Risky — the clause disadvantages you and is worth challenging.
The tenant has a statutory right to sublet part of the flat when a legitimate interest exists (§ 553 para. 1 BGB). A blanket ban cannot override this.
What you can do next
Despite a blanket ban, you can request permission to sublet part of the apartment if you have a legitimate interest (e.g., financial situation, partner moving in).
